Sitting Down with Glassette Co-Founder, Laura Jackson
Author: Rachel Chalmers
If you’ve ever styled a dinner party, the name ‘Laura Jackson’ is likely to ring a few bells – not only is she the co-founder and COO of thoughtfully curated homewares retailer, Glassette, but she’s been dubbed the “arbiter of what’s hot, from parties to home decor” with “the coolest lifestyle in Britain” by The Times. Her tablescapes, complete with dahlias stuck in tomatoes and cucumber ribbons fashioned into bows, is the stuff of Instagram legend – with her posts liked and shared by the creative industry’s biggest names, from foodie Stanley Tucci to author Dolly Alderton.
Born and raised in the north of England, Laura grew up in what she describes as a “very large, northern, chaotic family”, with togetherness and community threaded throughout her childhood. As Laura built a family of her own, she brought this need for community with her, both in her work as a social media ‘hostess with the mostess’ and in her personal life, where she relies on her friends and loved ones to keep her feeling happy, free and empowered.
A woman who is tired of everything looking “white and beige and neat”...
After feeling less-than-enthused by the prospect of a 9-to-5 job, Laura set out to build a career that matched her love of whimsy. Her brainchild, Glassette, is as close as we’ll get to a peak inside Laura’s brain: hand-decorated mugs, quirky art prints and colourblock dinner candles dot the pages of the eclectic e-commerce site. There isn’t a drab, beige object to be found – everything Laura touches inspires a bit of joie de vivre.
In celebration of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, we’re sitting down with our hand-picked selection of women to watch – members of our #LumityCollective who believe in Morning & Night’s ability to support women in reaching personal and professional goals. Laura Jackson is our latest woman to watch, and here’s hoping that we’ll receive an invitation to one of her dinner parties…

I feel lucky to be surrounded by a great community. I also have a great online community whom I adore – they are supportive!
