Sitting Down with Interior Designer, Leanne Kilroy
Author: Rachel Chalmers
A friend of Lumity since 2023, we sat down with interior designer and founder of @goodboneslondon, Leanne Kilroy, to discuss what makes her feel good day to day. Joining the ranks of big-name British interior designers like Katherine Pooley, Kelly Hoppen and Abigail Ahern, Leanne offers aesthetically considered designs with the realities of everyday living in mind.
A woman who understands the juggle...
Known for her “laid back yet elegant” style, Leanne documents her Victorian house transformation on Instagram and Substack, showcasing her keen design eye and appreciation for older homes with ‘good bones’. Since launching her boutique interior design practice, Leanne has been featured in publications such as The English Home, The Wall Street Journal, House & Garden, Remodelista, Forbes Home, House Beautiful, The Sunday Times and more.
As a busy mum with a growing business, Leanne lives in North London with her childhood sweetheart, three daughters and cat – and like many members of our #LumityCollective, she understands how critical support and self care can be when juggling competing responsibilities.
In celebration of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, we’re sitting down with our hand-picked selection of women to watch – members of our #LumityCollective who rely on Morning & Night to support them in reaching personal and professional goals, big and small. Leanne Kilroy is our first woman to watch, and you just might find yourself booking a netball session after getting to know her…

How would you describe your wellness routine?
Besides trying to drink lots of water and take my [Morning & Night] supplements, I don't really have a wellness routine, but I do make sure I get out into the sunshine when we're lucky enough to have it and I prioritise my weekly netball games with friends.
What’s one book you believe everyone should read?
My favourite books are Franny and Zoey and Nine Stories by J.D. Salinger, but with books I think quantity can be really important, too.
What’s the best advice you’d offer to your younger self?
Take even more pictures.
What’s the one self-care ritual you always make time for, no matter what?
I always make time for my morning skincare routine. It's not long or complicated but it's my only real ritual and it really sets me up for the day. I use a microcurrent device, then vitamin C serum, my favourite Embryolisse moisturizer and Ultra Violette SPF.
Feel-good food?
Vietnamese Goi Ga (chicken salad) and Bún chả giò (noodles with spring rolls) are my favourite feel-good comfort foods. Or pizza!
When do you feel the most inspired?
When I'm visiting places I've never been.

What helps you feel good?
Playing netball with my friends.
What makes you feel empowered?
Winning netball with my friends.
Three things you’re loving right now?
I've been obsessed with certain home scents recently: Ivy by Loewe, Anemone by Grove London and Che Fico! by Laboratorio Olfattivo. Or: Spring flowers, red-orange nail polish, and going to bed at 9pm.
What’s inspiring you in life right now?
Confidence.
What does wellness mean to you?
Being kind to myself and to others.
One piece of advice you’d give to all women striving to find or build an empowering community?
Focus on giving and sharing, and you will find your community.
